Jeff Teichert focuses his practice on what he enjoys most and does best--legal research and writing. Accordingly, Mr. Teichert offers his research and writing skills to law firms that need a trusted turn-on-turn-off resource for producing appellate briefs, motions, opinion letters, client advisory memoranda, and other similar documents.
A variety of factors motivate law firms to outsource research and writing projects. The benefits of doing so include easier handling of temporary work surpluses, more time for higher-profit (or simply more preferred) business/legal activities, increased productivity without the commitments and overhead expenses involved with taking on new staff or partners, and increased quality that comes from using an attorney focused on legal research and writing and who can, therefore, simply do it better and more efficiently than attorneys attending to multiple tasks.
Mr. Teichert is an experienced, respected, and effective legal writer. He has filed briefs in the United States Supreme Court, federal courts of appeal, federal district courts, the Washington State Court of Appeals and a variety of federal administrative tribunals.
In the year 2001, he served as a Special Deputy Prosecutor for Whatcom County, Washington in several appeals. From 1994 to 1996, he served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of American Samoa.
Mr. Teichert completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) "With Highest Honors" at George Washington University, emphasizing legal history, environmental law and advanced jurisprudence. He received an A on his thesis and earned an A+ average in other courses graded on the basis of a written paper or take home exam.
